After the museum, we walked across the street to Centennial Park and watched Xander play in the olympic rings. He got so soaked, he had to drive back to my parents’ with just a diaper on.

On Memorial Day, my parents threw a big party for my sister who just finished medical school. Alas, I have no pictures from the evening. But it was very, very fun.

The next day, we got back in the car to spend some family time in Savannah and Tybee Island. Here are some photos from our days at the beach…

We also did some touristy things, including a walk along River Street which proved to be too much for Xander and resulted in a long afternoon nap.

He seemed so big to me last summer; I wonder how little he’ll seem when I look back a year from now.

Family Pictures: The Deleted Scenes

When we first got our pictures back from our shoot October ‘09, we went through and chose the best ones for printing and a facebook album. Today, I went back through and looked at all the pictures again. There are some pretty funny outtakes, and I thought I’d share some.

December

Xander did a lot of growing up in the month of December. He enjoyed playing with drums at church so much that we got him his own little set. We also added to our family: a chihuahua and basset hound mix puppy we named Sansa!

November

November was devoted to unpacking, setting up, and settling in. Xander got sick, then got well, then got sick again. I also put up the Christmas tree before Thanksgiving for the first time.

October

Yeah, I know November is almost over. But I never got around to doing the October photoblog because of the move. Again, all taken on the G1.

October was a busy month. How busy? The first day of the month, Xander had (minor) surgery. There was lots of bubble blowing and The Price Is Right watching. He went all day without eating, but it didn’t effect his mood one bit!
2009-10-01 09.50.32 2009-10-01 11.25.20

He had a day at home with us, then spent a weekend with Rob’s parents as we went to St.Louis.
2009-10-03 14.31.53

A little bit of playtime around the house after our return. One great thing about Xander is that he rarely plays with his toys the way the kid on the box does, and he always finds the most interesting things to play with. Also, he loves technology and gadgets. I bought that box of floppies for him as a toy.

We had our 18-month doctor’s appointment. He’s in the 95th percentile in height!2009-10-06 10.00.24

And then things got really interesting. My parents and Rob’s watched Xander while we went to Paragould in view of a call. Our schedule for the week:

Rob did an amazing job fitting all of this in our trunk:2009-10-13 13.52.25

It was a busy, stressful week. But God was with us every step of the way.2009-10-15 16.19.332009-10-18 08.09.56

After a week without us, Xander was very glad to see Rob again at the airport.2009-10-20 15.03.56

And so we began the process of packing up and moving out. I found several things I hadn’t thought about in years. Below is a tract about witnessing to Jews that was too awful to throw away, and some of my high school poetry.

Boxes, boxes everywhere. The movers arrived at 7am, and we hurried to finish the last few boxes as they were loading into the truck. By 8pm, our house was empty and scrubbed clean.

September isn’t quite over, but here are some highlights of the month. All shot on the G1, because I never seem to have my normal camera around anymore.

Hi, Dad.

I have very few pictures of Xander and me together, because I’m usually the one with the camera. I also don’t think I’m very photogenic so I tend to avoid taking pictures as much as possible. This picture Rob took today is a rare treat:
